Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they reported.
Police then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for tips.
A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism left him speechless and required to be resolved promptly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
