I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
